Bishkek, Jan. 21, 2022 . / Kabar /. More than 11 thousand tons of grain were allocated in Kyrgyzstan as humanitarian aid to low-income families, Deputy Chairman of the State Material Reserves Fund Rustam Karakulov said during a briefing in Bishkek on Friday.
He added that the Material Reserves Fund is a special object of state property.
"Last year, more than KGS 2 billion were allocated from the republican budget. We used all this money, signed a contract with Russia and bought 63,000 tons of grain, about 3,000 tons of sugar and 2,000 tons of vegetable oil. We have stocked all these products with responsible storage facilities that are available in all regions of the country. The products are in warehouses," Karakulov said.
The deputy chairman noted that 62 out of 63 thousand tons of grain have already arrived in our country, the last 1 thousand tons is expected in the coming days.
In addition, 11,467 tons of flour will be distributed as humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations. To date, half of it has already been processed for distribution.
