Kyrgyzstan to celebrate World Book Day in online format

Bishkek, Apr. 23, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan will host a series of online events to celebrate World Book and Copyright Day, the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the republic reported.

The Culture Ministry in cooperation with Kyrgyz Patent ( the State Service of the Intellectual Property and Innovations) is planning:

- to record video congratulations to authors, writers, public figures;

- to post presentations prepared by Kyrgyz Patent and the ARTE law firm for distribution among the members of the Library and Information Consortium (LIC) of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Association of Digital Libraries;

- to hold a Kiteptime - book reading competition with the assistance of the Republican Library named after Bayalinov.

World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day, or International Day of the Book, is an annual event organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. The first World Book Day was celebrated on Apr. 23 in 1995, and continues to be recognized on that day.
