Kyrgyzstan to conduct agricultural census in 2025

Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2023. / Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan plans to conduct an agricultural census in 2025.

The corresponding bill on preparation for the census was submitted for public discussion by the National StatisticsCommittee.

The document says that the relevance of this census is also associated with significant changes that have occurred over the past twenty years in the country’s agriculture. These are, first of all, structural changes associated with the improvement of land relations, the development of a multi-structure economy in the industry, the activation of the individual sector, the disaggregation of agricultural organizations and the increase in peasant (farm) holdings.

The current situation creates an urgent need to obtain the most complete and reliable information about the state of the country’s agriculture, which is the basis for long-term management decisions in this area, for the development of an effective agricultural policy and the development of a market economy.

The agricultural census is supposed to be carried out through a survey of business entities, in electronic format - with a mobile application.
