The press service of the president said that Sadyr Zhaparov attended a football match between the national teams of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the eve held at the capital's stadium named after Dolon Omurzakov. This was the last game of the Asian Cup 2023 qualifying round for our team. The national teams of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan ended the game in a draw with a score of 0:0. Both teams reached the final stage of the 2023 Asian Cup.
After the game, the head of state entered the dressing room of the national team, where he personally congratulated the team on this success.
President Sadyr Zhaparov announced good news for many Kyrgyzstanis - in August of this year, construction of a new modern stadium with a capacity of 22.5 thousand people will begin in Bishkek, the press service of the head of state noted.
The president said that it will be a multifunctional sports arena where it will be possible to hold major international events at the proper level.
In turn, the head coach of the national team Alexander Krestinin and team captain Valery Kichin, thanking Sadyr Zhaparov for the provided support, noted that in recent years the state has paid special attention to the development of football and sports in general in the country.
They added that they are looking forward to the start of construction of a new modern stadium in the capital.
