Kyrgyzstan to reduce funding for sport by 75%

Bishkek, May 14, 2020. /Kabar/. The budget of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan will be reduced by 75%, the press service of the Agency reported with reference its Director Kanat Amankulov.

Out of KGS 400 million, provided for this year, KGS 300 million is cut.

"This reduction will radically affect the preparation of athletes. It will paralyze our entire system. Those funds that the Finance Ministry is leaving in advance, have already been used. Sportsmen went through qualification tournaments and training camps," Amankulov was quoted by the State Agency as saying.

Employees' salaries are paid on time and in full.
