Bishkek, May 24 / Kabar /. This year, due to weather conditions, spring-field work is delayed to 20-25 days, Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration Nurbek Murashev told on Tuesday.
He said that changing the weather affects the farmer's work and crops. “We have had a lot of precipitation this year and therefore we offered such seeds that are resistant to weather conditions," he said.
Also the Minister informed that this year the grain crop was cut.
"Because, we are changing the direction of the country's agriculture and switching to the sowing of technical cultures. For example, we increased the sowing of cotton and sugar beet," he said.
Murashev also added that active work is being done to combat pests, in particular locusts.
