Bishkek, May 16, 2022. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Osh city will host on May 21-23 the Asian Alish Belt Wrestling Championship among men and women, the Alish Federation said.
Over 300 athletes from 14 countries: Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Philippines and Japan are expected to take part in the competition.
This event is the second stage of selection for the 4th World Nomad Games to be held in September 2022 in Turkey’s Iznik. It is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan, the United World Wrestling and the Alish World Federation.
The Asian Championship is held to promote the Alish belt wrestling, the popularization of physical culture and sports and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
The competition will be held at the central stadium of Osh city among athletes 18 years and older in the following weight categories:
- men (freestyle): 60 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, +100 kg;
- men (classical style): 60 kg, 70 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, +100 kg;
- women (freestyle): 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, +75 kg;
- women (classical style): 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, +75 kg.
Winners of the competitions will be awarded sport rank “Master of sports of international class of the Kyrgyz Republic in Alish belt wrestling”.
