Bishkek, Nov. 20, 2021 . / Kabar /. Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Zhamankulov and Minister of Culture of Tatarstan Irada Aiupova met in Bishkek on Friday.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture reported that the two ministers discussed the implementation of old agreements, agreeing on the need to continue work on mutual tours of artists and groups, and also agreed to work out the issue of holding Days of Culture of Tatarstan in Kyrgyzstan in 2022, depending on the forecasts and the situation with the pandemic.
Irada Aiupova also informed her Kyrgyz counterpart about the implementation of a number of projects dedicated to the works of famour Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.
The sides also debated possible activities for the upcoming anniversary of Aitmatov, including the possibility of joint production of a film based on the work The Day Lasts More than a Hundred Years, as well as the publication of a collection of works by folk writers and poets in the Kyrgyz and Tatar languages.
In conclusion, Aiupova invited Zhamankulov to visit Tatarstan next year, noting that on the occasion of the 1,100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam the republic will host large-scale cultural events, and the 45th UNESCO meeting on cultural heritage will take place in Kazan, emphasizing that there are three sites on the World Heritage List in the region.
Having discussed the issues, the culture ministers of the two countries agreed on the need to prepare a joint action plan to further strengthen Kyrgyz-Tatar intercultural communication and relations.
