Kyrgyzstan to host international conference devoted to Islam in modern secular state

BISHKEK, Aug. 15, 2017 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev received his adviser Mira Karybaeva, who reported on preparation to the high-level international conference “Islam in modern secular state,” which will be held in September of this year, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.

The aim of this international project is a preservation of cultural uniqueness of national states, prevention of penetration of radical ideas under the guise of promoting religious values, ultimately enhancing of effectiveness of democratic governance.

During the meeting Karybaeva also told about participation of representatives of international organizations as well as state bodies, experts, scientists from a number of countries.

Atambayev instructed to ensure the preparation of the international conference at the high level, stressing special relevance of ideas and tasks in increasing effectiveness in interaction of the state and religious communities in countering extremism and radicalization.
