Bishkek, March 11, 2020. / Kabar /. The issues of holding the International Exhibition “IT EXPO” in Kyrgyzstan were discussed in Bishkek, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
In the light of the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of economic diplomacy, as well as in order to implement the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov on declaring 2020 - the Year of regional development, digitalization of the country and support for children, meetings of Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov were held with US Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Donald Lu and the office of the US Embassy for Trade and Economic Affairs. It was agreed to hold a large-scale event - the International Exhibition "IT EXPO" in autumn of 2020.
In order to implement this agreement, at the initiative and coordination of the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the US Embassy, the first working meeting was held with the participation of representatives of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic - the Office of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the State Committee for Information Technologies and Communications, the Ministry of Economy of, the Investments Promotion and Protection Agency, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, participants noted that currently in Kyrgyzstan there is a very positive trend in the development of the IT sector and the growing interest of young people in this sector. It is planned to hold an “IT EXPO” at the international level, with the participation of leading IT companies from the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Korea, Germany, France, India and other interested states. It is also planned to involve interested business associations of Kyrgyzstan, universities specializing in the training of software engineers, IT specialists, including universities located in the regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, in this process. It is expected that the International Exhibition will provide IT / start-up companies in Kyrgyzstan with the opportunity to establish cooperation with leading world companies in the exchange of experience and business outsourcing.
Following the results of the first working meeting, the sides agreed to form a working group of experts to develop organizational and substantive aspects with the subsequent creation of the organizing committee for the “IT EXPO”.
