Bishkek, Jan. 24, 2022 . / Kabar / . The Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan submits for public discussion a draft of the Cabinet of Ministers resolution "On Amendments to the Labor Code of the Kyrgyz Republic”.
According to the document, significant changes are currently taking place in the labor market. As a result of the development of digital technologies, the volume of traditional employment is reducing, which leads to the emergence of its new forms (freelancing, self-employment, telecommuting, etc.).
Along with this, the epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the relevance of the application of the labor contract with the introduction of remote work.
In this regard, there was an urgent need to regulate remote labor of various categories of workers. The amendments provide an opportunity to legally fix the relationship with such workers.
In addition to introducing a new concept of "remote work" into the Labor Code of Kyrgyzstan, the draft Law also introduces norms according to which an employment contract may be concluded between an employee and an employer in the form of an electronic document certified by an electronic digital signature.
Conclusion of an electronic labor contract will increase the speed of formalization of labor relations.
