Kyrgyzstan to introduce restrictions on holding mass festivities and weddings

Bishkek, March 31, 2021 / Kabar /. Restrictions will be imposed on the holding of mass festivities and weddings, Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told on the air of Birinchi radio.

“Today, at an expanded republican meeting, we will take measures to restrict festivities and weddings. We will announce it in the evening or tomorrow,” he said.

The Kyrgyz authorities have implemented a series of measures since the outbreak of COVID-19, including a lockdown for one and half month, closing borders, schools and entertainment centers, banning public gatherings.

The country declared an emergency on March 22, 2020 and the measure is still in force.

Earlier, the capital city’s Mayor’s Office announced the closure of children’s playgrounds in Bishkek from April 1 due to increase of COVID-19 incidence in the city.
