Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2020 / Kabar /. Akylduu Mektep (Smart School) program will be introduced in Kyrgyzstan, adviser to the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rasul Abazbek, told reporters at Kabar News Agency.
This is a comprehensive program to introduce digital technology into the educational process.
Rasul Abazbek said that the program consists of four main components: 1. Development of IT competencies of teachers; 2. Development of digital skills of students; 3. Development of digital educational content; 4. Development of school ICT infrastructure.
“The implementation of the Smart School program should not only increase the efficiency of using IT in the educational process, but also contribute to improving the quality of education in general, narrowing the gap between the educational achievements of children in the regions of the country, villages and cities, schools with different languages of training,” he said.
The official said that the Ministry will select 10 schools for the pilot implementation of the program by the end of 2020, 2 of which will be in Bishkek, 1 in Osh, and the rest in each region of the country.
He also noted that within the framework of the program, each school will have its own website, an electronic journal. “The department has also successfully implemented an electronic queue in the school, an electronic database of the school’s book fund. In addition, we plan to automate the remuneration system for employees of the education system,” Abazbek said.
The advisor emphasized that 100 million soms were allocated from the budget for digitalization of the education sector.
