Kyrgyzstan to launch information campaign on children's rights

Bishkek, May 18, 2020 / Kabar/. Human rights activists together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic are launching an information campaign on children's rights for schoolchildren, the public fund "League of Defenders of the Rights of the Child" reported.

Annually, May 17 is celebrated throughout the world as the International Children's Helpline Day, including in Kyrgyzstan.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the support and protection of children in difficult situations, helplines for children play a big role in providing them with timely assistance. Children's Rights Defenders League, Ombudsman Institute, Helpline for Children 111 Center, Ministry of Education and Science will celebrate this holiday as part of an information campaign among schoolchildren and their parents through informing about children's rights via social networks, online information and television from May 18 to June 1st. Particular attention will be paid to children in institutions of residential care, in places of deprivation and restriction of freedom, the report said.
