Bishkek, Nov. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. The authorities will open higher education institutions in Kyrgyzstan after the New Year, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Surabaldiyeva wrote tweeted on Monday.
"There are many issues/complexities on work of kindergartens in cities. The only question is whether we will handle the mass influx of heavy (elderly and chronically ill citizens) in hospitals," the official wrote.
In late March 2020, Kyrgyzstan shut downed all educational institutions in order to avoid mass infection with coronavirus.
On Nov. 12, a total of 489 Kyrgyz general educational institutions have returned to education in a traditional mode.
All schools have been switched to distance learning since March.
Due to coronavirus pandemic, new academic year in the country began in an unusual mode - only first-graders attend schools, all others are studying online.
