Bishkek, Apr. 17, 2020. /Kabar/. The total amount of expected humanitarian aid for Kyrgyzstan in the fight against COVID-19 coronavirus infection is $7 million, Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev said at a briefing at the Government House.
According to him, $700 thousand from this amount has already received. Asrandiyev noted that monetary means represent small part, and the vast majority are medical products and humanitarian aid.
"The rest $6.3 million has been confirmed and is being processed," he said.
Thus, according to the deputy PM’s information, aid comes from the Islamic Development Bank, the USAID, KOICA, GIZ, various UN organizations, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Aga Khan Foundation.
Also, Russia, Japan, Korea, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan provide assistance in the form of test systems.
"Also, humanitarian aid comes from Kyrgyz business structures and proactive citizens,” the official added.
Erkin Asrandiyev added 166 thousand families have received assistance from the state and the funds being received on the account of the Social Development Ministry to form food supplies. More than 200 thousand families are planned to be covered.
In addition, KGS 129 million have been received on the Health Ministry's account, of which KGS 8 million have been allocated for additional payments to medical workers.
