Kyrgyzstan to receive medicines from WHO for clinical trials for COVID-19 treatment

Bishkek, Apr. 28, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan will participate in clinical trials for COVID-19 treatment, conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbolot Usenbaev told a news briefing.

“The Ministry of Health has decided to participate in these clinical trials. We will receive medicines that meet European quality standards. They are of high quality and conform to international requirements. We will try to use them to treat patients,” he said.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Health noted that clinical guidance for these drugs is available from WHO.

“Then we will report what results we got. We hope that they will give a good healing effect,” he said.

As of April 28 morning, 13 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, totaling 708, of which 185 cases were infected by medical personnel. 416 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals. Eight have passed away.
