Kyrgyzstan to receive over 400 thsd doses of COVID-19 vaccine this month

Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2021 . / Kabar / . 419,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines will arrive in Kyrgyzstan in October, Director of the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center Gulbara Ishenapysova said during a briefing on Monday.

Today the supply of vaccines is sufficient. The country has received 3,63,000 doses of AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and QazVac vaccines. We use vaccines produced by Sinopharm, Vero Cell and QazVac, which have been used since October.

The director of the Immunoprophylaxis Center added that 259,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine, 110,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine, and 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Polish Embassy are expected to arrive.

"Vaccines are available to everyone, they are free and available at vaccination points, which have been open since the start of the mass vaccination campaign. To date, there are more than 1,000 such outlets in all regions and in Bishkek," said the director.

"On Oct. 1, the national warehouse received 4 units of cold storage equipment for vaccines. Then after defrosting the vaccines can be stored at a temperature of +2 - +8 degrees Celsius. We will administer this vaccine throughout our country," said Gulbara Ishenapysova.

A total of 836,541 doses of coronavirus vaccine have been administered in Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the vaccination campaign on March 29, 2021.
