Kyrgyzstan to start revaccination against COVID-19 in December

Bishkek, Nov. 15, 2021 . / Kabar / . In Kyrgyzstan, revaccination against COVID-19 will start in December, Minister of Health of the republic Alymkadyr Beishanaliev during the TV program From Words to Deeds.

He noted that revaccination will be administered to citizens with a blood antibody index less than 3 units.

"Citizens who were vaccinated back in spring may already be at risk. Those, citizens who have blood antibody index less than 3 units can be revaccinated,” the minister said, adding that the issue is being worked out in detail.

In addition, Beishanaliev pointed out that the rate of vaccination in the republic is very low.

"The first dose of the vaccine was given to 46% of the target group, while the second dose - 36%. We planned to vaccinate more than 1 million citizens with the first dose by September 2021, but this figure was reached relatively recently. In turn, people do not always receive the second shot, cause they get sick after receiving the first vaccination or fly abroad and get it there. Overall, we can say that 44% of the population in Kyrgyzstan is fully vaccinated," the minister concluded.

Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29. As of today. A total of 1,038,427 doses of vaccine against coronavirus infection have been administered across Kyrgyzstan, and 817,530 citizens have received both doses of the vaccine.
