BISHKEK, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Gun stores will temporarily cease operation in Kyrgyzstan, the country's Interior Ministry said on Monday.
These measures are taken in connection with the start of the election campaign and in order to ensure public safety, and prevent violations of law and order during the preparation and conducting of parliamentary elections, said the press service of the ministry.
The ministry also will suspend the issuance of permits for carrying, storing and using weapons.
In addition, a full check of the relevant documents of legal entities and individuals, including security agencies and their branches, as well as a check of weapons and storage places will be carried out.
Parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan will be held on Oct. 4 with the participation of 15 political parties. The election campaign started on Sept. 4.
