Bishkek, April 21, 2021. / Kabar /. A new edition of the Tax Code has begun to be written in Kyrgyzstan.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Bekbolot Aliyev told at a press conference at Kabar Agency that today any entrepreneur and citizen can submit their proposals.
He said that, an interdepartmental working group was created to write a new version of the Tax Code, which included representatives of business, government authorities and deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.
“Earlier there were several Decrees of the President of Kyrgyzstan to improve the country's economy. Within the framework of these decrees, tasks have been set to create conditions for investors and develop the economy,” he said.
Aliyev noted that the current Tax Code was adopted in 2008-2009, but during this time many amendments and alterations were introduced.
“This creates difficulties. In this regard, a working group was created and began to develop a new edition. The first stage, when we began to develop the edition, we conducted an analysis of whether it should be generally revised. The working group came to the conclusion that the current tax system is modern and the most liberal in the CIS and EAEU space. But all the same, the Code includes a number of not good norms and gaps, this concerns part of the administration,” he explained.
In addition, the deputy minister added that there is also an appeal from representatives of small and medium-sized businesses to significantly reduce procedures or merge.
“We have created 6 modular subgroups. We plan to fully develop the project by September in order to discuss it with the population and submit the bill to the Jogorku Kenesh. And in our plans, the Tax Code will be adopted from January 1, 2022,” he said.
