Bishkek, Feb. 27, 2023. / Kabar /. To date, USD 992,869 and EUR 1,418 have been transferred from a special account opened in Kyrgyzstan to provide assistance to Turkiye, Ahmet Sadik Dogan, Ambassador of Turkiye to Kyrgyzstan, told at a press conference in Bishkek.
“Given the size of the amount, I am sharing these figures with you in accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability,” the diplomat said.
He noted that donations were made by 30 public organizations, 39 companies, residents of 14 villages and towns, 8 educational institutions, as well as government agencies, deputies, ambassadors and citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
“The moral support of the government of Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyz people is important for us. We know that millions of our Kyrgyz brothers and relatives have mourned the pain of their brothers in Turkey. I'm sure they were as happy as we are for every life saved from the rubble. I express my sincere gratitude to President Sadyr Zhaparov, all institutions and organizations, associations, search and rescue teams and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, our compatriots and citizens. I also want to express special gratitude to the Kyrgyz living in Turkiye, who arrived in the earthquake zones and supported the work,” the ambassador said.
He noted that the solidarity and love for Turkiye that he saw here will leave a deep mark in the heart of the Turkish people.
