Bishkek, March 3, 2021 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev met on March 1 with head of the Presidential National Library of Turkey Aykhan Tuglu, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of librarianship, as well as the establishment of friendly relations with the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the same time, during the meeting, an agreement was reached on unhindered and free visits to the library by Kyrgyz citizens residing and temporarily staying in Turkey, on the basis of presenting a civil passport.
For reference: The construction of the largest library in Turkey has begun in 2015 at the initiative of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The official opening took place on February 20, 2020. The library is part of the presidential complex located in the Bestepe district of Ankara. The library's collection includes 4 million printed documents, more than 120 million electronic publications, 550 thousand electronic books, manuscripts and early printed documents. The library has a Kyrgyz corner, which consists of books by Kyrgyz writers in Kyrgyz and Russian.
