Kyrgyzstan, Turkey reach agreement on supply of medicines and medical devices

Bishkek, March 17, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev met with his Turkish counterpart Fahrettin Koca as part of his working trip to Turkey.

The press service of the ministry said that the meeting was attended by representatives of the Turkish state joint-stock company "Uskhash" (authorized body, including on issues of medicines and medical devices) and representatives of the Department of Medicines and Medical Devices of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the issue of the supply of medicines and medical devices to Kyrgyzstan, as well as an increase in quotas for the treatment of seriously ill Kyrgyzstanis in Turkey, was discussed.

Based on the results of the discussions, an agreement was reached that Turkey would sale medicines and medical devices to the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic will also take measures to organize a simplified procedure for the delivery of medicines and medical devices. This will make it possible to replenish the medicines market, which is experiencing difficulties, in the light of the situation in Ukraine.

Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev expressed gratitude to the Turkish side for active cooperation and support.

Also during the meeting, the minister asked his colleague to assist in the treatment of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan in one of the Turkish clinics. A citizen of Kyrgyzstan, K.E.A, lives in Izmir and needs expensive medical care free of charge.

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca assured that they would consider the issue of providing free medical care to a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic.
