Bishkek, Nov. 13, 2024. / Kabar /. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev held talks via video link with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications Mammetkhan Chakyev.
The Cabinet of Ministers reported that the parties discussed issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, transport, infrastructure, agriculture and trade.
The parties noted the need for further development of trade relations, emphasizing the importance of increasing cargo flow through the Caspian Sea, which has great potential for creating effective logistics both at the regional and international levels.
In this regard, the organization of multimodal cargo transportation along the route Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Russian Federation or through the port of Alyat (Azerbaijan) in the direction of European countries is being considered. The implementation of this route will contribute to strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries, expanding opportunities for the transportation of goods both within the region and for their export to Europe. Also, in order to intensify the use of the capabilities of the international Turkmenbashi seaport by Kyrgyz carriers in transportation through the Caspian Sea, options for simplified tariffs for all types of transport and port services were considered.
