Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine discuss issues of enhancing bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, Aug. 10, 2021 . / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev received on Monday Ambassador of Ukraine to Kyrgyzstan Valery Zhovtenko.

During the meeting the sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral dialogue and increase trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and investment cooperation, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

In particular, the minister and the ambassador exchanged proposals on implementation of joint projects in economic, humanitarian and transport spheres, as well as in tourism. In addition, they expressed mutual interest in resuming direct air links.

An agreement was reached to hold this year the first political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the two countries, as well as the regular meeting of the Kyrgyz-Ukrainian Commission for Economic Cooperation.

In addition, the sides discussed plans to celebrate in 2022 the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

Kazakbaev and Zhovtenko also "synchronized their watches" on topical international issues, paying special attention to cooperation within international and regional organizations.
