Kyrgyzstan, US agree to intensify cooperation in education

Bishkek, March 24, 2022 . / Kabar /. Bishkek hosted on Thursday a meeting of Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev with U.S. Charge d'Affaires Sonata N. Coulter and U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Shayna Cram.

Almazbek Beishenaliev thanked the US Embassy representatives for their long-term contribution to development of education in Kyrgyzstan and popularization of the English language in the country, the press service of the ministry said.

The minister noted the importance of strengthening the role of foreign languages in education, including English.

He also stressed the ministry’s interest in attracting more volunteers from the United States to teach English in Kyrgyz educational institutions.

Sonata N. Coulter said that education is a priority for the USAID Mission and noted a high interest in promoting English language in educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan expressed readiness to attract more volunteers.

At the end of the meeting, both sides noted readiness to continue active cooperation in the field of education.
