Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2017. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan agreed to include a description of the draft state border with a total length of 1 thousand 170.53 km into the intermediate agreement on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov said following the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Zheenbekov noted a positive dynamics in the process of the delimitation and demarcation
"Since August 2016, 15 meetings have been held. To date, a description has been prepared of the draft state border of total length of 1 thousand 170.53 km, which the sides agreed to include in the intermediate agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. I am confident that the signing of the Intermediate Agreement will give a positive impetus to the further work of our delegation on the delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. And it will bring our negotiations to a qualitatively new level," the prime minister of Kyrgyzstan said.
The 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on the bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is held in Bishkek on Aug. 16. The delegation of Uzbekistan was headed by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
