Tashkent, March 26, 2021. / Kabar / . There is need to continue the practice of regular cultural events, mutual participation in concerts and festivals, including increased cooperation in education, sports and tourism, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov said during the 9th extended format meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent.
He said that in 2018 there was a positive experience between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the co-production of the feature Delbirim movie film, based on the work of Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.
"The movie had positive feedback among the public of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. I consider it necessary to further intensify cooperation in cinematography, joint staging of theatrical plays and performances, as well as concert events to strengthen the friendship of our peoples," Maripov noted.
Continuing, the head of the Kyrgyz government said that mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop steadily and fruitfully on the basis of traditional and centuries-old friendship between the Kyrgyz and Uzbek brotherly peoples.
Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov also confirmed a readiness to increase cultural cooperation, adding that a delegation of Uzbek representatives would participate in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Babur Theater in Osh, as well as joint work on the Silk Road tourism brand.
