Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2021 . / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met on Thursday with Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Kunio Mikuriya, the press service of the Cabinet reported.
Cabinet Chairman Zhaparov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to introduction and development of IT-technologies in customs sphere.
"Now we are actively introducing IT technologies, including DATA-analytics, at customs. In this regard, we need modern software that can work efficiently and without failures,” he said.
Kunio Mikuriya supported the measures taken by the Cabinet of Ministers to digitalize customs procedures.
"I am confident that the Kyrgyz Republic will cope with the task. Along with this, great attention should be paid to the issue of interaction of business with the Customs Service and other state bodies. All parties should work closely together," Mikuriya stressed.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a range of issues in terms of interaction of customs authorities of different countries with each other, unification of export/import accounting methodologies, development of the Kyrgyzstan as a major transit hub linking China and Southeast Asian states with Central Asian and CIS countries.
