Kyrgyzstan will not face rolling blackouts in winter, says head of Industry Committee

Bishkek, Aug. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. There will be no rolling blackouts in Kyrgyzstan in winter, Chairman of the State Committee of Industry and Subsoil Use Emil Osmonbetov said in his interview to state station.

According to him, JSC National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan (NEGK) does not consider any restrictions on electricity supply.

'As we have already reported, at the moment capital and current repairs are carried out at all energy facilities. All works are on schedule and they will be completed by the season. We’ve inspected a number of power facilities, including in the regions," Osmonbetov said, adding that he intends to visit facilities in Osh, Dzhalal-Abad, Batken and Chui Oblasts soon and personally inspect everything.

By Aug. 24, 2020 the volume of water in Toktogul Reservoir has amounted to 14 billion 666 million cubic metres.
