Bishkek, Nov. 23, 2017. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan won gold and bronze medals at the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament in Kazakhstan. The event was dedicated to the memory of two-time world champion, European champion, 1980 Olympic champion, Shamil Serikov, the Greco-Roman wrestling Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The tournament was held on Nov. 16 - 18 in Almaty. Wrestlers from all of over CIS countries took part in it. The main goal of the event was the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the selection of candidates for the National Team of Kazakhstan, the promotion of the Greco-Roman wrestling sport in the country and strengthening of friendly relations between the countries.
Wrestler from Kyrgyzstan Mustafa Hasanov became champion of the tournament. Kanjarbek uulu Talastan became the bronze medalist of the tournament.
