Kyrgyzstani Lazarev loses to American wrestler, but there is chance to fight for bronze

Bishkek, Aug. 5, 2021. / Kabar /. Freestyle wrestler from Kyrgyzstan Ayaal Lazarev, competing in the weight category up to 125 kg, lost in the first fight at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The wrestler from Kyrgyzstan lost the fight with the US wrestler Dan Gable Stevenson with a score of 10: 0.

Accompanying Kyrgyz athletes said that Ayaal Lazarev is an experienced and talented wrestler, Champion of Asia. “A little was not enough. Let's hope that the American will reach the final, and Lazarev will have a chance to compete for bronze,” they said.

Athletes from Kyrgyzstan won three medals at the Tokyo Olympics - 2 silver and 1 bronze.

Wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov brought the silver medal to the piggy bank of Kyrgyzstan on August 3. The same day, Meerim Zhumanazarova won a bronze medal. Yesterday, Aug. 4, Aisuluu Tynybekova fought with a Japanese athlete and was able to win silver.

In the overall medal standings of the Olympics, Kyrgyzstan is in 61st place
