Tashkent, Dec. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. Athletes from Kyrgyzstan Maria Korobitskaya and Ilya Tyapkin became winners of the II International Tashkent Marathon, the press service of Uzbekistan’s National Olympic Committee reported on Monday.
Korobitskaya finished in first place on the classic distance of 42 km 195 meters, and earned a gold medal. Her result of 2 hours 26 minutes 42 seconds allowed her to meet the Olympic standard.
Among men, Kyrgyzstan’s Ilya Tyapkin won a silver medal in a distance of 42 km 195 meters (2 hours 16 minutes 7 seconds).
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic standard in the marathon was 2:11:30 minutes for men and 2:29:30 minutes for women.
