Bishkek, July 11, 2019. /Kabar/. Female freestyle athlete from Kyrgyzstan Meerim Zhumanazarova won the first gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championship in Chonburi, Thailand.
Zhumanazarova performed in the weight category up to 68 kg, had three victorious fights.
She defeated Yarinda AIRLANG from Thailand with a score 10:0. In the semi-final she was better than Chinese wrestler Xin LI - 8:1. Then, she met with Rin MIYAJI from Japan and won the gold medal with a score 8:6. Thus, Zhumanazarova won the first gold medal for Kyrgyzstan.
She claimed a bronze medal in the women's 68kg freestyle event during the 2018 Asian Games.
The Kyrgyz national team has three silver medals, won by Akylbek Talantbekov, Nurzhigit Keneshbek uulu and Nazira Marsbek kyzy.
