Bishkek, Feb. 15, 2021. / Kabar /. Thanks to a caring woman, $3,000 worth of medicine was bought for children with cancer, Help the Children-SKD Public Charity Fund reported.
Help the Children-SKD Fund decided to support young patients on the International Childhood Cancer Day by purchasing medicines worth over $3,000 and organizing an art therapy together with volunteers from the Fund. All the medication was bought thanks to a woman with a symbolic name Nadezhda (in translation from Russian – Hope), who donated $3000 to the Fund.
"Along with medical drugs, art therapy can enhance social rehabilitation, making it as gentle as possible, because the use of visual expression of actual experiences and conflicts alleviates the patient's mental pain," the report says.
According to the organizers of the campaign, psychological support to parents and young patients is no less important than providing them with the necessary expensive medications and equipment.
The Help the Children-SKD has been helping in the treatment of children's patients at the cancer centers in Bishkek and Osh for the past 13 years. During this time, assistance has been provided for more than KGS 182,000,000 (about $2 million 154 thousand 866).
