Bishkek, March 20, 2021. / Kabar /. First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov held on Saturday another meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government said.
It was noted that in recent days there has been a dynamics of increase in coronavirus cases.
"Despite the availability of more than 50% of beds and reserve places, we can't relax. There is need to intensify work on reorienting a medical institutions in case the epidemiological situation worsens.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health and Social Development advocated the need to maintain restrictions on mass events, strengthen the mask regime in public places and places of congestion, and for citizens to observe the rules of social distance.
"Citizens need to pay special attention to the safety of their health, that is, to observe social distance, wear masks and adhere to other sanitary norms," Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Nurbolot Usenbaev said.
PM Novikov emphasized the country's health care organizations must be fully prepared for a possible increase in the number of patients with COVID-19.
"If the epidemiological situation worsens, the introduction of additional protective measures will be considered. Medical institutions must make an appropriate schedule of supply of medicines to hospitals for monitoring. The permanent stock of drugs must not fall below two months' need, including in pharmacies throughout the republic. Drug prices will be under special control of the state. Next week we will hold a meeting with all representatives of the pharmaceutical business," he noted.
Following the virtual meeting, the Ministry of Health and Social Development has heen instructed to work with the Central Elections Commission of the republic, with governors of Kyrgyzstan's oblasts, the Bishkek and Osh Mayor's Offices to educate the population about the need for strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological rules during campaign events by representatives of various parties and public organizations.
The Ministry of Education and Science and the Bishkek Mayor's Office have been instructed to conduct explanatory work with school principals and heads of kindergartens, regardless of ownership, on the observance of sanitary rules.
