Very soon, Kyrgyzstan will celebrate a significant date - the 30th anniversary of the republic's independence. The country gained sovereignty and set off on its own path in 1991. A young state, like a young man, goes to its goal without the baggage of experience, makes mistakes, fills abrasions, but without all this it is impossible to achieve results. Over the years, many events have taken place in the country, both good and not so. The government changed, democratic principles were established, contacts were established.

Like any independent state, the country begin its modern historical period with the creation of symbols. The flag, coat of arms and national currency were developed.

The flag of Kyrgyzstan was approved on March 3, 1992. It is a red canvas, with a solar disk with 40 rays depicted in the center. A tunduk is depicted inside the solar disk. Since 2010, the country celebrates the State Flag Day on March 3.

The coat of arms of Kyrgyzstan was approved on January 14, 1994 according to the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh.

As for the national currency, the national currency - Som (KGS) was one of the first currencies introduced among the countries of the former USSR. On May 3, 1993, a decree was issued on the introduction of Som. The banknote of KGS 2000 became the winner of the competition among the currencies of the countries of Europe and the CIS. Also, do not forget that the Som is the currency that has the lowest inflation rate for the entire period after the collapse of the USSR.

Much has changed in 29 years. Much was predicted for Kyrgyzstan, but the country went its own way. For example, now the digitalization and regional development is in active phase. These are important projects and challenges of our time. However, in general, the country copes well with them.

Thanks to the digital transformation that is in process in Kyrgyzstan today, there is an opportunity to create new platforms for interaction between the state, the private sector and citizens. Therefore, the ambitious tasks, set by the state before the state bodies in this direction, must be fulfilled.

In addition, digitalization will increase the efficiency of government agencies and reduce the level of corruption. And based on the experience of Kyrgyzstan in this matter, we can say that the successful implementation of reforms in the country depends on the fair work of the judicial system. It should be noted that the judicial and legal reform, which began several years earlier, continues till now.

A decrease in the level of corruption has also been noticeable in recent years. In general, the fight against corruption is one of the priority tasks of the country. After all, corruption is a scourge that significantly slows down the development of the country.

It is worth saying that over 29 years the country has established many contacts, entered into various integration associations. One of the largest such associations is the Eurasian Economic Union. Despite much criticism from ill-wishers, such friendship has already borne fruit, and this is especially noticeable during a pandemic. In difficult times, many countries lent a helping hand and did not leave Kyrgyzstan to its fate. In addition, various economic projects with allies are being developed, trade, training, exchange of experience and long-term plans are being made. Such actions helped to stabilize the country's economy. This is evidenced by the numbers. For example, the country's GDP in 1991 was USD 2.5 billion. According to the latest data, this figure has grown to more than USD 8 billion. Also, the significant contribution to the economy of the republic was made by labor migrants. In 2019, migrants transferred more than USD 2 billion to the republic, but due to the pandemic in the previous two years, transfers have slightly decreased and are gradually returning to levels before the coronavirus pandemic.

Tourism also contributes to the economy. Despite the fact that a pandemic has been raging in the country for the last 2 years, the tourism industry continues to develop. Many foreigners come to the republic to get acquainted with the life and culture of the country. Also, the World Nomad Games made a significant contribution to the popularization of the country. Despite the fact that next time they will be held in another country, this is already a kind of brand of Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, the anniversary year will be remembered for the changes in the Constitution. On April 11, a nationwide referendum was held to amend the main document of the country. On May 5, President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a new constitution.

The current year will also be remembered for the Olympic achievements. At the past games, our athletes won 3 medals - 2 silver and 1 bronze.

“Olympic medals, the best sports results and achievements of our athletes have become a worthy gift for the 30th anniversary of our country's independence. You have met the expectations of all Kyrgyz fans and brought joy to our people,” said President Sadyr Zhaparov.

It is worth noting that over 30 years of independence, Kyrgyz athletes have had 7 Olympic medals - 3 silver and 4 bronze.
