Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2020. /Kabar/. Acting President of Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov received Chairman of the country’s National Bank Tolkunbek Abdygulov, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government said on Monday.
During the meeting, Tolkunbek Abdygulov presented information on the National Bank's activities aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability in the country, sustainability and security of the banking and payment systems of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the situation at the currency market.
Issues related to smoothing the negative economic consequences of coronavirus infection for the population and business entities were discussed.
Acting President, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov noted the importance of maintaining the stability of the financial and banking system, the stability of the exchange rate of the national currency, as well as reducing risks to the national economy due to the spread of coronavirus infection.
Due to stabilization of the situation in the country, Zhaparov instructed the National Bank to take measures for timely and uninterrupted implementation of payment and transfer operations through national and international payment systems, as well as resumption of cross-border operations through SWIFT system and alternative communication channels without restrictions.
