Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to Uzbekistan takes part in international conference on Central Asia in Tashkent

Tashkent, Oct. 19, 2021 / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan Ibragim Zhunusov took part on Monday in the International conference "New Uzbekistan and Regional Partnership in Central Asia", the press service of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission in Tashkent told Kabar Agency.

Speaking at the event, Zhunusov noted that this conference is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of state independence, which this year is being celebrated by the countries of Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan. Sincere friendship and constructive dialogue between the leaders of the region contribute to the development of mutual cooperation. Strengthening mutual trust and good neighborliness has become an important factor in achieving positive results in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

“Our countries attach great importance to this and strive to further expand and deepen the multifaceted Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations. As you know, we are connected by the centuries-old historical and cultural community of the peoples of the two countries, based on the unshakable principles of good-neighborliness and mutual respect,” he said.

He said that the current year turned out to be a breakthrough in the development of multifaceted Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation. A striking example of this is the state visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan, which took place on March 11-12, 2021.

“During this visit, agreements were reached to increase the trade turnover to 1 billion US dollars (with the prospect of reaching 2 billion US dollars) and eliminate all barriers, strengthen cooperation between enterprises and business objects, create a Kyrgyz-Uzbek investment fund with an authorized capital of 200 million US dollars, effective use of the transport potential of the two countries, cooperation in the field of water use and energy, border issues, etc. ", said the head of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission.

The event was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, experts, heads of diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan.

The conference participants noted the need to study the theoretical aspects of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia, determine the direction of scientific research on topical issues in the investment, transport and communication, energy, environmental, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
