Bishkek, Dec. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Central Elections Commission Abdyzhapar Bekmatov told how the voting process will take place in the presidential elections and referendum of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Thus, according to him, a citizen is given two ballots at the polling station after passing biometric identification.
"One white ballot paper is intended for the presidential elections, the other blue – for the referendum. After receiving the ballots, the voter goes to the booth and ticks two ballots at once," the deputy head of the republic’s CEC said.
Bekmatov stressed that if ballots are spoiled - a check mark on more than one candidate – they’ll be invalid. Afterwards, the ballots are put in two different ballot boxes.
The early presidential elections of the Kyrgyz Republic and the referendum on the form of government will be held on Jan. 10. Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic over 18 years old who have submitted biometric data will be able to vote in the elections. In addition, Kyrgyzstanis can vote only at the place of their residence registration.
