Kyrgyzstan's CEC received 24 signals of election campaign violations

Bishkek, Dec. 23, 2020 /Kabar/. The Central Elections Commission of Kyrgyzstan received 24 signals about violations of the election campaign, Chairwoman of the CEC Nurzhan Shaildabekova told during a press conference on Wednesday.

She noted that 13 of the signals are applications. "Of these, 2 - on vote-buying, 1 on hooliganism, 2 on distribution of false campaign materials. The rest are related to the rules of campaign violations," she said.

Shaildabekova noted that 8 of the 13 applications were considered by the CEC.

"There have been more signals in recent days. We are responding not only to applications, but also to media reports. Now there are clarifications on a number of reports of violations, in particular, on the fact that the state security service employees are involved in the campaign, on the fact of giving gifts, horses, etc. Verbal warnings were issued in 4 cases. One fact was not confirmed. Regarding the fact of gift giving - we were informed that the gift was not accepted by the candidate,” the chairwoman of the Kyrgyz CEC added.

Elections campaign has begun in Kyrgyzstan on Dec. 15, 2020. The early presidential elections are scheduled for Jan. 10, 2021.
