Bishkek, Aug. 1, 2020. /Kabar/. In the past day, 494 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection were registered in Kyrgyzstan, Head of the Public Health Department of the Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova told a daily news briefing Saturday.
Thus, Kyrgyzstan's confirmed cases of coronavirus infection have reached 36,299 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of these, 142 are laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 352 cases of clinically confirmed COVID-19 or community-acquired pneumonia.
As of Aug. 1, another 22 Kyrgyz medical workers have contracted coronavirus infection. Total number of medics infected has reached 2,790, and 1,766 of them have cured already.
Nationwide recoveries from COVID-19 have climbed to 25,891 after 900 Kyrgyzstanis were reported to recover Saturday.
Novel coronavirus claimed 19 more lives throughout Kyrgyzstan, raising the republic’s death toll to 1,397 since the outbreak of the virus.
Ainura Akmatova also said 9,173 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals and inpatient centers in the country.
3,605 of them are patients with laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, while 5,568 have community-acquired pneumonia.
