Kyrgyzstan’s COVID-19 cases top 170,353

Bishkek, Aug. 11, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan's COVID-19 tally rose to 170,353 on Wednesday as 382 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19 said.

The total number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Kyrgyzstan increased to 160,051 after 771 new ones were added.

The death toll rose to 2,420 with 7 new fatalities during the last 24 hours.

Currently, 2,455 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals throughout the country and 4,031 patients - at home.

Kyrgyzstan launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on March 29 after receiving Chinese donated vaccine. In addition, the country received Sputnik V vaccine from Russia in April and Astra Zeneca in July.

As of Wednesday a total of 555,118 people have received their first vaccine shots against COVID-19 in the country, with 201,394 having received two doses.
