Bishkek, July 28, 2021 . / Kabar / . The COVID-19 disease reporting system in the Kyrgyz Republic has become better, Head of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for the Control of Viral Infections Zuridin Nurmatov said during a briefing Wednesday.

He added that number of cases registered in this July has surpassed a figures of the last year. That shows the improvement of the registration system’s work, because last year there were problems with beds and not all cases could be accounted for.

In addition, Nurmatov noted that Kyrgyzstan's figures at the global level are much better than in many other countries.

"For example, our country ranks 88th in the number of registered cases. In terms of morbidity per 100,000 population, Kyrgyzstan ranks 113th. At the same time, countries that do not have problems with financing have higher rates. This shows that financing doesn’t matter. Besides, the mortality rate per total population is 107th, while the mortality rate per case is 118th," the specialist added.
