Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2020. /Kabar/. Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Nurzhigit Kadyrbekov met with representatives of tourism business of the country.
According to the press service of the Culture Ministry, during the meeting the sides discussed the restoration and further development of tourism in the country, including winter tourism, as well as ways to address the problems that have arisen amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Maybe we should jointly organize training of taxi drivers to generally accepted rules and norms of international etiquette. After all, they are the first to meet foreign tourists at airports. The same courses should be organized for waiters and guides. Their level of behavioral culture and culture of service creates a first impression of the country and our people. Preferably, certified specialists should serve foreign tourists. Such practice exists in developed countries," the minister noted.
Kadyrbekov also emphasized that proposals and ideas voiced by representatives of the tourism business at the meeting will be further considered and necessarily worked out in order to improve the state policy on tourism.
