Bishkek, June 11, 2020. /Kabar/. The Ministries of Culture of Kyrgyzstan and Russia discussed the action plan for the Cross Year.
According to the ministry’s press service, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov held a working meeting with his Russian counterpart Olga Lyubimova in the format of videoconferencing.
The sides discussed proposals for the implementation of bilateral cultural and humanitarian measures, provided by the consolidated program of the Cross Year between the two countries.
Lyubimova voiced the events that the Russian side plans to hold in Kyrgyzstan before the end of the year as part of the Cross Year. On this issue, Jamankulov said the Kyrgyz side is ready to accept and provide full assistance in holding the previously planned events.
At the same time, the minister voiced suggestions for a number of online events, including an online concert for the Day of Russia with the participation of artists of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation, and also suggested considering the possibility of joint holding the following events in the online format:
- joint performance of popular songs by pop singers from both countries;
- literary readings of monologues from the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov and excerpts from the works of Alexander Pushkin by actors of the Kyrgyz and Russian theatres;
- joint performance of an opera from the repertoire of People's Artist of the USSR Bulat Minzhilkiev in honor of his 80th birthday by actors of the Kyrgyz Republic and Russia.
In addition, the parties discussed the issue of holding the second meeting of the working group on culture of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation.
