Bishkek, Apr. 16, 2020. /Kabar/.No cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection have been reported among newborns, Deputy Health Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbayev said at a news briefing at the Government House.
"Cases of infecting newborns in the country have not yet been recorded, but there may be such a risk. Everything depends on hygienic measures. If hygiene is strictly observed, there will be no infectious diseases," Usenbayev said.
As of Apr.16, 17 more cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Kyrgyzstan, 466 in total.
Of these, 104 are cases of medical personnel infection.
91 people have recovered and discharged from hospitals.
Death toll in the country has reached 5.
