Bishkek, Apr.3, 2020. /Kabar/. First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Suyun Omurzakov visited the checkpoints that had been set up in connection with the declaration of the state of emergency in Dzhalal-Abad Oblast, the press service of Commandant of Dzhalal-Abad town and Suzak region reported Friday.
The deputy interior minister together with Head of the Dzhalal-Abad Oblast Internal Affairs Department Kylych Joldoshev got acquainted with the work of staff serving at checkpoints in Suzak region, and also considered some issues and suggestions of local residents.
Omurzakov noted the police officers clearly carry out the task, understand the problems of the population, and medical officers asked to thoroughly check all visiting citizens and carry out appropriate disinfection.
He also addressed local residents.
"I urge everyone to show patience and restraint, not to give in to panic moods. I ask all citizens to understand the measures taken by the internal affairs bodies in connection with this situation related to the coronavirus epidemic. The police are taking enhanced security measures. Everyone must show a responsible attitude, we must not allow the violation of law and order. The most important thing for us is the health and life of our citizens," Suyun Omurzakov concluded.
As of Apr.3, COVID-19 cases in Kyrgyzstan have increased to 130.
The first patient, who had confirmed case of COVID-19 died yesterday, Apr.2.
Five citizens have recovered and discharged from hospitals.
From March 25 to April 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.
Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.
