Kyrgyzstan’s Dzhalal-Abad honors memory of fallen Afghan soldiers

Osh, Feb. 17, 2021. / Kabar /. An event took place in Dzhalal-Abad town of Kyrgyzstan to honor the memory of soldiers died in Afghanistan war.

Deputy Mayor Ruslan Altymyshev, members of the Afghan Veterans Council, business leaders and residents took part in the event.

They laid flowers at the monument, and students sang songs of remembrance. This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from the Republic of Afghanistan.

More than 100 soldiers from Dzhalal-Abad went to Afghanistan, two of them died on the battlefield.

Currently, there are 82 veterans living in the town. The Government of Kyrgyzstan annually provides financial assistance to them.
